8.0 - Beginning
Introduction
People are the most important asset of the Knowledge Society but both Companies and Universities have to face fierce global competition to attract and retain the most qualified and talented staff. The collaboration between Business and Universities is based on the mutual effort of individuals within these organisations. Therefore, to optimise the relationships and collaborations between the various institutions it is essential to identify the most effective procedures in terms of managing people and their professional careers.
Problems identified
- Limited number of personnel exchange programmes between Businesses and Universities.
- Knowledge transfer is not perceived as a priority in researchers’ CVs.
- Lack of participation of Companies in the definition of training profiles which are best adapted to their needs.
- Insufficient training in R&D&i management in both Universities and Businesses.
